Summary
A 1960s plastic Peggy Nisbet doll dressed as a Pearly King, from her 'British Traditional Costumes' series. Series number BR.314. The company produced national costume dolls from the late 1950s to 1982. The face has moulded and painted facial features and brown painted hair. His arms are moveable. He wears a black velvet jacket and trousers which are liberally covered in pearly sequins. A red and white spotted scarf is around his neck. On his head is a black velvet beret with sequins as decoration. On his feet are black painted boots. He stands on a metal stand which has a metal spring to hold the doll. A label attached to the doll states 'British Traditional Costumes, BR.314, Pearly King.' and 'Collectors Costume Dolls by Peggy Nisbet, Made in England'. Total number of items is 3.
