Summary
A 1960s plastic Peggy Nisbet costume doll portraying Emma, Lady Hamilton (c.1765 – 1815) from her 'English Historical Costumes' or 'Historical Dolls'. Series number H.232. She has moulded and painted facial features with bouffant white hair, and a red velvet hat with a green silk band and a white plume. Her arms are hinged at the shoulders. She wears a full-skirted yellow satin dress with a white collar, and a yellow overdress. The long sleeves are edged with a band of brown velvet and a white lace frill. Her petticoat is of gold satin and white net, and she has brief yellow satin knickers. She has shoes painted on her feet, and she stands on a silver coloured oval metal stand, held on with a coiled spring. Printed on a label attached to her left wrist is 'Collections Costume Dolls by Pegg/ Nisbet, Made in England, English Historical Costumes, H 232, Emma Lady Hamilton, 1765-1815'.
