Summary
A 1960s plastic Peggy Nisbet doll possibly protraying Elizabeth of York (1466–1503) from her 'Historical Dolls' series. Series number H.230. The doll has moulded and painted facial features with brown hair. She wears a black velvet headdress surmounted by a gold coloured coronet. She wears a long sleeved lilac satin dress with a train and fake white fur at the neck, cuffs and hem. The square neckline is decorated with gold and silver coloured braid with ruby coloured glass beads which extend down the centre line of the dress. A red velvet white 'fur' trimmed long cape is attached to her shoulders. She has two white satin petticoats and an underslip of white cotton. On her feet are gold coloured painted shoes. She is attached to a metal stand by a wire spring. Printed on a label attached to her left hand is 'H/230/ Elizabeth of York/ Queen Consort of Henry VII/ 1466-1503/ Made in England'.
