Summary
A 1960s plastic Peggy Nesbit doll from the 'Royal Miniature Figures' (or possibly a 'Portrait Doll') series portraying Queen Victoria (1819 - 1901). Series number P.610. She has moulded and painted facial features with white hair tied into two buns at the sides of her head. On her head is a silver coloured plastic crown and a long white lace veil. Queen Victoria wears a long black-grey artificial silk dress trimmed with lace at the collar and cuffs. Across her shoulder she has a blue ribbon sash a plastic star badge and three clear plastic 'jewel' buttons. Underneath is a long black dress, a white cotton underskirt trimmed with lace and long white cotton pantaloons also trimmed with lace underneath this. She has black fabric shoes and is standing upon a metal base. Attached to her arm is a folded label that gives details of the doll’s maker, character and a short history. Attached to Queen Victoria's sleeve is a manufacturer's label with the following information; 'Collectors/ Costume/ Dolls/ by/ Peggy/ Nisbet/ MADE IN ENGLAND' On the inside is 'Royal Miniature Figures/ P/610/ Queen Victoria/ 1819-1901'
