Summary
A 1960s plastic Peggy Nisbet doll from her 'Royal Miniature Figures' or 'Historical Dolls' portraying Queen Elizabeth I (1533–1603). Series number H.214. She has a plastic head with moulded and painted features. She has red nylon hair drawn back into a bun on the crown of her head. It is embellished with three rows of pearls. She has a plastic body and has arms jointed at the shoulders and fixed legs. She is wearing a cream brocade dress which has long sleeves, a slightly gathered peplum, a lace ruffle round the back of the neck attached to the front of the dress with two blue jewels, lace trimming round the wrist and two velvet lined free floating panels that are attached to the shoulders. She has a stiff under skirt and black painted shoes. Attached to her arm is a folded label that gives details of the doll’s maker, character and a short history. Attached to her left arm is a folded label which reads 'Collectors/ Costume Dolls/ by/Peggy/ Nisbet' on the outside and 'Royal Miniature Figures/ H/214/ Queen Elizabeth I/ Daughter of King Henry VIII/ and Anne Boleyn/ 1533-1603' on the inside.
