Summary
A 1960s plastic Peggy Nisbet doll from her series 'Scottish Historical Figures' or 'Historical Dolls' and portraying Bonnie Prince Charlie (Prince Charles Edward Stuart 'The Young Pretender' (1720-1788) with moulded and painted facial features. Series number H.210. A white wig tied with a black bow. He wears highland dress. A tartan kilt, socks, and plaid held at the shoulder by a grey plastic brooch with yellow 'jewel'. A white satin shirt with lace at the neck and wrists, six pearl buttons and a red 'jewel' at the neck. A blue velvet jacket with braid at the wrists and six yellow glass buttons. Black plastic shoes with buckles. In his right hand he holds a silver coloured plastic sword. He stands on a metal stand with a spring. Printed on a label on his left hand is 'Scottish Historical Costumes /H[slash]210/ Charles Edward Stuart/ (Bonnie Prince Charlie)/ Died in Exile 1788'.
