Summary
A1960s plastic Peggy Nisbet doll from her 'Royal Miniature Figures' or 'Historical Dolls' series dressed as King Henry VIII (1491-1547) costume doll by Peggy Nisbet. Series number H.218 He has moulded and painted facial features with a painted ginger beard. On his head is a red velvet cap with a white feather. Henry wears a big red velvet coat edged with brown 'fur' along the front opening. The big puffed sleeves are decorated with a gold coloured circle design as is the bottom of the hem. He wears a blue fabric doublet with a white collar and four red 'jewel' buttons. Henry's tights are white artificial fabric and his shoes are painted white with a red 'jewel'. Attached to Henry's sleeve is a manufacturer's label with the following information; 'Collectors Costume Dolls by Peggy Nisbet, Made in England' On the inside is 'Royal Miniature Figures, H/218, King Henry VIII, 1491-1547'.
