Summary
A 1960s plastic Peggy Nisbet doll (circa 1958) from her 'Royal Miniature Figures' or 'Historical Dolls' series dressed as Queen Jane Seymour (1509 –1537). Series number H.220. She has a plastic head with moulded and painted features. She has blond nylon hair which tucks under a pink silk headdress which is trimmed with braid, pearls and blue jewels and has a long black velvet extension at the back. She has a plastic body with arms jointed at the shoulders and fixed legs. She is wearing a long pink silk dress which has a short train. The bodice of the dress is square at the front and trimmed with braid and pearls. There are long sleeves which have over-sleeves that are trimmed with fur on the inside. The skirt is slashed to the waist at the front and has a gold panel edged with braid. This gold panel is attached to a grey silk underskirt. Beneath this she has a tight white underskirt. She has brown painted shoes. Attached to her left arm is a folded label which reads 'Collectors/Costume/Dolls/by Peggy/Nisbet' on the outside and 'Royal Miniature Figures/ H/220/Jane Seymour/3rd Queen of King Henry/VIII/Mother of King Edward VI/ 1509-1537' on the inside
