Summary
A 1960s plastic Peggy Nisbet doll from her ' Royal Miniature Figures' or 'Historical Dolls' series dressed as Queen Anne Boleyn (1507–1536). Series number H.217. She has a plastic head with moulded and painted features. She has black hair which tucks under a red silk headdress. The headdress is trimmed with gold braid, pearls, red jewels and has a black velvet extension down the back. She has a plastic body, arms jointed at the shoulders and fixed legs. She is wearing a blue brocade silk dress which has a short train. The bodice has a square neck trimmed with braid and pearls. The sleeves are red silk and have over-sleeves lined with fur. The skirt is slashed to the waist and has a red inserted panel. This panel is attached to a gold silk under skirt beneath which she has on a gold coloured under-skirt and a white under skirt. She has black painted shoes. A label with the doll reads - 'Collectors/Costume/Dolls/by/Peggy/Nisbet on the outside and ' Royal Miniature Figures/H/217/Anne Boleyn/2nd Queen of Henry VIII/beheaded 1536/1506-1536' on the inside.
