Summary
This object is a set of Lexicon cards in the original packaging (circa 1935). The set contains the cards, a set of rules, and a small book suggesting new games that may be played with the cards. There is also a form to enter a Lexicon competition with prizes of £1000. The original packaging consists of a red mock book; the cards are put into a cardboard container and then slid into the book. Total number of items is 60. Waddington’s – 1922 to 1994 Founded as Waddingtons Limited as a printing business. The name then changed from Waddingtons Limited to Waddington's House of Games. In 1905 Waddington's House of Games changed their name to John Waddington Limited. In 1922 John Waddington Limited changed their name to Waddington Games. The last name change was from Waddington Games to Waddingtons. In 1971 Waddingtons bought out Alf Cooke. In 1994 Waddingtons was bought out by Hasbro.
