Summary
A white linen shirt or chemise for a baby. It is made from a single piece of fabric, the selvages forming the back opening edges. Small cap sleeves have been formed by cutting and pleating the fabric. These and the neckline are edged with narrow lace.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Miss B K Humphreys in 1990. Miss Humphreys' list states that this was worn by a baby in 1890.
