Summary
A Cabbage Patch doll with original box, and some of its original ‘paperwork’ (circa 1984). It has a plastic head with moulded features and painted brown eyes. The hair is brown wool fashioned in a double roll to frame the face and a pony tail. The body is stuffed flesh-coloured knitted fabric. The arms and legs are of the same fabric, jointed at the shoulders and hips. She is wearing a loose blouse of red material with a small floral design. It has sleeves with broderie anglaise frill and a white collar piped in red. It closes at the back with velcro. She has pants of similar material with broderie anglaise trim on the legs. She has white fabric lace boots and white knitted socks. She has a white terry bib decorated with a duck appliquéd on the front and a lace frill round the edge. There is an empty pink envelope with green printing on the outside which would have contained the doll’s ' Adoption Papers’ The wedge-shaped cardboard box is not on display. The front has a large cellophane window. At the bottom is a semicircle with the name 'Cabbage Patch Kids' and a logo of a baby face inside leaves of a cabbage. The ages of the children the doll is suitable for is at the bottom on the left, a slogan in the centre and 'IDEAL' in an oval on the right. The sides and top of the box repeat the slogan and instructions for care of the doll. Total number of items is 3.
