Summary

An Action Man Soldier doll (circa 1982). The doll is made of plastic and has a moveable head which has moulded and painted facial features, inset blue eyes which can be moved using a lever at the back of the head, and synthetic hair cut very short. The plastic body is fully jointed at the neck, shoulders, waist, hips, knees, ankles, elbows and wrists. The fingers are moveable. He is dressed in a khaki coloured nylon long-sleeved jersey with a 'v' neck and epaulets, and a pair of cotton trousers with a mottled design in yellow, black, red, green and khaki. There is one patch pocket on the left hip. over the jersey is a brown cotton belt with a brass coloured buckle and a khaki scarf all of which can be removed. On his feet are a pair of black plastic boots, and on his head is a black soft plastic removable beret with a silver coloured badge. There is a brown and black plastic rifle with a black shoulder strap. The doll comes in its original cardboard box. The box is coloured yellow, black, red and white with coloured illustrations. On the front is the title 'Action Man Soldier' in black and red above a coloured picture of the head and shoulders of a soldier. On the back is an illustration of the 'new dynamic body for more action poses'. On one side are more illustrations of the improvements, gripping hands, realistic hair and moving eyes. There is also information of the 'Palitoy' licence and manufactures. On the other side are illustrations of other Action Men available and a list of the contents. In the box are three leaflets: a white and black sheet explaining how to best way to pose Action Man; a red, black and white card for collecting Action Man stars; and a coloured poster with an illustration on one side and illustrations of the 'Palitoy' toys associated with Action Man. Total number of items is 6.
