Summary
A set of clothing (bath robe and slippers), for a 'Sasha' doll still in it's original packaging. The packaging reads 'Clothes for Sasha doll Nightdress 210' (1982). The clothes were made by the company 'Trendon Limited', Stockport, UK. The clothes were donated as new by Trendon Limited in 1982 and has therefore been dated 1982. Sasha dolls were created by a Swiss artist called Sasha Morgenthaler. From 1965 Sasha dolls were produced by various different companies and then in 1970 'Trendon Limited', Stockport, UK began production. Trendon Limited produced these dolls until 1984 when 'Sasha Dolls Limited' became the selling company until 1986 when the factory closed. The set includes a pale blue cotton nightdress, white flannel dressing gown and white flannel slippers. They are displayed in their original shallow rectangular box with clear plastic front. The packaging appears to still be unopened. The box is made from white cardboard with a shallow frame around the edge and clear plastic film in the centre, under which the clothes are displayed. The dressing gown has short sleeves, a pocket on the right-hand side and ties with a white tape at the neck. Attached to a piece of cardboard is a piece of string with round metal and cardboard 'medallion' which has the word 'Sasha' printed on it. On the reverse of the box are black text and black and white photographs. The top left-hand corner has a descriptive piece relating to the history of Sasha dolls, besides which is a large black and white head and shoulders photograph of a boy and girl doll. Below are four rows of black and white photographs. In each case the photographs show a doll dressed in a different outfit, below which are shown the clothes displayed on their own. The first two rows are entitles 'Clothes for girls or boys' and the last two rows are entitled 'Clothes for girls'. Total number of items is 6.
