Summary
A vinyl 'Sasha' doll, model number 107, 'Sasha Gingham', with the original packaging box (circa 1982). The doll was made by the company 'Trendon Limited', Stockport, UK. The doll was in production from 1968 to 1986. This doll was donated as new by Trendon limited in 1982 and has therefore been dated circa 1982. Sasha dolls were created by a Swiss artist called Sasha Morgenthaler. From 1965 Sasha dolls were produced by various different companies and then in 1970 'Trendon Limited', Stockport, UK began production. Trendon Limited produced these dolls until 1984 when 'Sasha Dolls Limited' became the selling company until 1986 when the factory closed. The doll is made of hard vinyl. The face has moulded and painted facial features with blue eyes. Her rooted nylon hair is blonde, below shoulder length and has a fringe. The socket head can turn. The body is made in two parts joined together with a distinct ridge. The arms and legs move from joints at the shoulders and hips. The doll is wearing a blue and white check cotton dress with a white collar, fastened with Velcro; blue and white cotton knickers; white cotton machine knitted vest; white machine knitted nylon socks; and white plastic ankle strap shoes with metal studs. The box is made of white cardboard with a clear plastic top. The sides and one end of the box are printed with faces of different dolls in the series; the other end has self-adhesive label with a colour image of the doll and details of the manufacturer. The Sasha symbol and words 'Sasha doll' can be faintly seen under the label. Total number of items is 2.
