Summary

A vinyl 'Sashababy' doll, model '510, Baby, Denim Playsuit, Brown hair, Baby', in her original box (circa 1982). The doll was made by the company 'Trendon Limited', Stockport, UK. The doll was donated as new by Trendon Limited in 1982 and has therefore has been dated circa 1982. Sasha dolls were created by a Swiss artist called Sasha Morgenthaler. From 1965 Sasha dolls were produced by various different companies and then in 1970 'Trendon Limited', Stockport, UK began production. Trendon Limited produced these dolls until 1984 when 'Sasha Dolls Limited' became the selling company until 1986 when the factory closed. The doll is made of hard vinyl. The face has moulded and painted facial features with brown eyes. His rooted nylon hair is dark brown. The socket head turns. The body is made in two parts joined together with a distinct ridge. The arms and legs move from joints at the shoulders and hips. The doll is wearing navy blue and white denim dungarees, a white cotton towelling long sleeved top, and matching knickers and white leatherette shoes with ankle straps. Tied around the doll's right wrist is the red and blue metal Sasha doll symbol disc. On the reverse of which is written 'made in England'. The doll is lying inside a woven straw 'Moses' basket without handles. The box is made of white cardboard with a clear plastic top, the sides and one end are printed with faces of different dolls in the series. The interior of the box is lined with white removable cardboard. There is a loose label with a colour photograph of the doll and details of the manufacturer inside the box. The Sasha symbol and the words 'Sashababy' are printed with the details of the manufacturer and address on one end of the box. Total number of items is 3.
