Summary
A 1930s composition black baby 'Topsy' doll with moulded and painted facial details. She is the character 'Topsy' from the book 'Uncle Tom's Cabin'. She is now wearing handmade clothes and her orginal dress would have been red cotton. She has Bakelite plastic earings. She is a mid-range priced doll. Different manufacturers made these dolls. She has embossed curly hair on head with tufts of black wool on top of head and at side of head. cream bone earrings in each ear. White angora knitted bonnet tied with cream satin ribbon and a matinee jacket, which is fastened with two poppers. Short sleeved angora knitted dress with a popper at each shoulder. Cotton knickers with lace edging. Pair of knitted bootees with knitted straps fastened with pearl buttons.
