Summary
A wax shoulder-head doll with moulded and painted facial features and inset blue glass eyes. Her fair hair has been dressed in a plait round her head. A double row of pearl coloured beads in the front. Her jointed arms and legs are made of wood or composition and her body is made of stuffed fabric. Her short sleeved, off the shoulder dress, is very worn and faded. It would appear to have been made of a dark red plush fabric on the front panel, edged with lace and decorated with pearl coloured beads. A deep red fabric gathered onto the side of the panel might have had a bustle at the back. It is edged with white lace, with a deep red velvet sash at her waist. The short sleeves have a lace edging. Her red underskirt has a deep frill, edged with lace, at the hem. There are two white cotton underskirts, the top one with a serrated hem. She also wears a pair of pantaloons, edged with lace, which are stitched to the stuffed body. Her feet have black painted boots with red edging. Both toes are chipped. She wears pearl coloured bead bracelets on each wrist and a triple row of pearl coloured beads round her neck.
