Summary
A Kammer and Reinhardt bisque headed baby doll with moulded and painted features. The hair is moulded and painted. The head is jointed to a composition body. The arms and legs are composition and jointed at the shoulders and hips respectively. The doll is known as a 'Kaiser Baby' character doll, as it is said to be originally modelled on the features of Kaiser Wilhelm II to commemorate his birth. The doll is wearing a cotton fabric inner nappy secured with a safety pin and a cotton and flannel outer nappy also secured with a safety pin. Associated with this doll are 1) a short wool cape trimmed with swan's down and lined with silk, 2) a woollen bonnet trimmed with swan's down and lined with silk. 3) a long wool cape lined with cotton and trimmed with swan's down, 4) a long white cotton petticoat trimmed with lace and 5) a long petticoat with a cotton bodice and a flannel skirt. Total number of items is 6.
