Each of these castenet pairs would have been designed to make a different pitched sound.
Summary
Three pairs of wooden castanets. The hollowed out castanets are tied together in pairs. One set in light wood, is tied with red cord and varnished both sides. The other light wood sets are varnished on the outside only and tied to a bundle of red, yellow, beige and black narrow ribbon. The dark wood sets have similar bundles of ribbon and are varnished both sides. They all have the name, O. (changed to V on one pair) Fox, written on the inside. Total number of items is 6.
