Summary
Two handmade exam booklets, one bound with two blue ribbon ties, the other with two green ribbon ties. On the front cover of one is handwritten 'A.M.D.G. Getrude Hardenberg, Pupil of the Third Class Midsummer Examination 1876'. Inside are handwritten answers about Scripture history; Church and English history; Geography; A Map of France; Common Things; Dictation; Grammar Analysis; Parsing; Arithmetic; Practice'. On the back cover is a handwritten list of the subject examined and the marks awarded. The front cover of the other exam booklet reads 'A M D G F G Hardenberg, Pupil of the Second Class Midsummer Examination 1877, Subjects Writing N History Composition Geography Spelling Maps S History F Geography C History Grammar E History Arithmetic'. Inside are handwritten answers on the above subjects. On the back cover is written in ink 'These Papers have been done without assistance, and have not been corrected, 100 marks the highest number attainable in any subject. School will recommence Aug 16th. Total number of items is 2.
