Summary
A wood and metal tinplate table-top football game with metal score card (circa 1960s). It is rectangular in shape and has painted white metal sides with text around the outside sides. The maker's logo ‘Munro Model 751' also appears. On either end is text relating to the market crowd scenes that appear on the inside. Inside there are two white plastic goals and two teams, one painted red and one blue. The men are made from cut-out metal sheets fitted into plastic brackets and can be moved backwards and forwards and side to side by a metal rod which is attached underneath the base. The players’ strips were originally a different colour but enamel paint has been used to change the colours. There is a separate rectangular tin-plate (yellow, red, black) score card which has three dials two of which mark the ‘home goal’s and ‘visitor goals’, and one of which is the timer. Total number of items is 2.
Provenance
