Summary
A rectangular cardboard box with a removable lid, and the original set of garden models inside. The box is covered in a colour printed floral paper. A printed label on the box lid reads 'Miniature Gardening’. This illustration shows only one of the designs which can be made from this set. The plants are cast of a special soft alloy, and with care can be bent so as to further increase the natural effect. All components in this box and many others can be purchased separately. The set was made by ‘William Britain’ a renowned model maker. The interior of the box is subdivided into compartments. Inside are assorted garden pieces cast in metal and painted brown, grey or green. They include crazy paving slabs; trellis; fences; beehive; roller; soil pierced with holes for inserting plants (plants missing); sundial; swan; a grey pigeon; a white pigeon; walls; pots and a ladder. There is also a printed list on a cream sheet of paper detailing product numbers and corresponding prices. Total number of items is 48.
