Summary
A Zoetrope dating from 1860. The zoetrope consisting of a black painted metal drum with vertical slots cut at equal intervals into the top half. The base of the drum is mounted on a turned, circular wooden base. Inside, on the floor of the drum, is a circular piece of paper (disc) printed in black with a ring of figures at the centre and another around the outer edge. Around the inner edge of the drum is a black and red printed sequential image (strip) of a monkey jumping over a fence and a dog going through the fence. Total number of items is 3.
