Summary
A doll with papier mache head, kid body and wooden lower limbs. The head and shoulders are moulded; the hair is painted black and shows a parting in the middle and a bun at the back with ringlets at the side of the head. Her features are moulded and painted with blue eyes, pink cheeks and red lips. The paint is cracked and flaking. The body is made from stuffed kid leather The arms and legs are made from wood and are painted, the feet are missing, and the paint has worn away in parts. The arms and legs are attached using strips of cloth; the doll is wearing white pantaloons which are trimmed with lace. On the top of these is a white petticoat whose hem is decorated with broderie, and over this she wears a white muslin skirt which has a wide net panel around the bottom of the hem. Over this she wears 2 white garments which are possibly aprons, one of which ties at the waist, the other is joined by a piece of lace sewn onto either side. The white petticoat is trimmed with lace at the neck and a piece of pink embroidery thread is threaded through the open lace work to draw the neck up and is fastened at the front. The garments are very dirty.
