Summary
An elaborate, wooden, doll's house size four poster bed; with a separate oval shaped cotton mattress or coverlet decorated with a floral design (contents from Betty Cadbury's doll's house number:-665529). Total number of items is two The bed dates from c. 1935. The bed is made out of a wooden cigar box. There is impressed and also printed text relating to cigars on parts of the bed. The cornice on the top is made out of a picture frame. Two of the legs are turned, carved and painted a gold colour in places. Some of the gold coloured paint is chipped off in places. The turned finials on the top of these carved legs protrude through the top of the bed. There are two green velvet curtains, trimmed with embroidered braid, which hang on curtain rings threaded onto two curtain rails. Original documentation reads 'Doll's house bedroom furniture for 2nd floor front left hand room of house'. Total number of items is 2.
