Summary
A wooden box, stained black, and carrying a paper label on the top of the lid with an inscription WAGNER CONCERT/ DRGM and a picture of a woman and eight children, one of whom is playing the xylophone. The lettering and the table cloth are red in colour. The lid has two hinges, one of which is broken, and a hook and pin fastener. Inside the box is a playing hammer and a scale of thirteen notes, three of which are missing. The foot of the scale into which the pins are fitted is cast in iron and carries the name WAGNER. Below the metal scale is a paper glued to the floor, which labels the notes by number and by name. Inside the box is a slip of paper on which is written 'Xylophone - German/ Date 15.9.73/ Price [pound sign]5/ From Mercila Anderson/ Sales/ Kidderminster.'
