Summary
An original cardboard box containg paper ballet costume cut-outs for fitting on a paper doll, entitled 'Taglioni'. There is also a seperate card inside in French with descriptions of the dresses and a hand written card giving history of the Taglioni family. The white cardboard box has on it an edging of brown leaves and an illustration of a ballerina in flowing pink dress with a large green bow. Around her is a pattern of fruit and flowers. Above this illustration is written 'TAGLIONI' and beneath her is an illustration of a mask with a shell shaped hat, on which are printed the following; 'OPERAS/ and Nathalie, La Silphide, la Tentation, Le Sicilien, La Revolk de Sersail, Guilaumme Tell, Le dieu de Bayadere, la Belle au Bois Dormant The costumes for each opera are as follows; for 'Opera du Scilien' is a peasant costume in red, green and yellow with a headress of red bows and lapets in white and yellow; 'La Belle au Bois Dormant' dress has a blue skirt, red bodice and collar and white blouse and apron; 'Opera de la Tentation' is a white dress with yellow patterning, a blue shawl and green hat; 'Guillaumme Tell' is a blue and white dress with grey headdress; 'La revolte au Seraglia' is white and pink embroidered with flowers with a swirling pink shawl and brown hair dresed with pearls; 'natalie' is a simple white dress with yellow spots, having an overdress of white coloured flowers with a headdress of pink roses.
