Summary
A large model railway carriage (circa 1925 - circa 1940) and four model railway wagons. The carriage, DERSS : 21574/3, has a painted yellow roof with a sign reading 'PADDINGTON NEWPORT [AMPERSAND] CARDIFF' in black paint on each side. The windows are glazed in glass, although the panes on one side of the carriage have fallen backwards and are lodged inside the carriage at two places. The lower part of the carriage is painted brown and painted with the following inscriptions; '1407' twice, once at each end, 'THIRD' three times, 'GWR' in the centre with a logo below, and 'FIRST' three times. The base of the carriage has two sets of four black painted metal wheels. The interior of the carriage is empty although it is divided up into two separate sections with a central wooden panel. The first railway wagon, DERSS : 21574/5, has a cream painted metal roof above a wooden box. This box is covered with printed paper giving the impression of black painted wooden panelling. This is marked on both sides in white print with 'G W/ 114294 12 Tons Tare 7 6' with 'G.W.R/ 114294' and 'R.F./ STEDMAN/ [AMPERSAND] CO. LTD' within two individual 'plaques'. The wheels of the carriage are metal The second wagon, DERSS : 21574/4, is constructed the same way as the first but has an open window at one end. The white printed inscription on this wagon reads 'G CARDIFF W/ 17954 24 Tons' and in two 'plaques' below 'G.W./ 17954' and 'R.F./ STEDMAN/ [AMPERSAND] CO. LTD'. Again this is repeated on both sides. The wheels are metal. The third wagon, DERSS : 21574/7, has an open top, but is the same wooden and paper construction as above. This wagon is marked with 'G W/ 109458 10 Tons Tare 5.12' with the R.F. Stedman 'plaque' below. The wheels are again metal. The fourth wagon, DERSS : 21574/8, also has an open top but doesn't have a printed paper covering. Instead, the wooden panels are moulded and painted on the sides. In white paint is marked 'S 12 TONS R/ 25742 Tare 6.8.0'. The wheels are metal. All the wagons and the carriage have metal fenders. One of the wagons contained the luggage and milkchurn recorded as DERSS : 21574 and TEMP.4361.1-6 Total number of items is five
