Summary
A brass coloured toy stationary steam engine on a red metal base. A brass coloured boiler with a red painted chimney, copper whistle and a steam valve fastened to the top. On the end is a rusted nut. The boiler is fastened to a black painted stand by a silver coloured strip if metal. The stand, which is fastened to the base, contains a black, removable, rectangular burner to provide the heat. Held in place on the base with rivets, at the side of the boiler, is a frame which holds a red painted wheel. The axle through the wheel has a pulley on one end and a weighted bracket on the other. The bracket is connected to a piston which is worked by copper 3 tubes from the boiler. Fastened to the side of the piston a lever, with a bakelite handle, which alters the pitch of the piston. The corners of the hollow, plate metal base are turned out to form 4 feet and a row of holes are drilled round the edge. Some paint is missing from near the boiler stand. A plate on the side of the boiler reads 'Mamod' and a label on the box reads ' 'Mamod and Hess'. Total number of items is two
