Summary
A hand held friction toy featuring a butterfly with multi-coloured celluloid hinged wings and a green and black metal body (circa 1925). The butterfly is attached to a black metal frame housing a cog, spring, gear and plunger. Beneath the butterfly are two metal discs. The upper one is blue with transparent red and blue 'windows' and two upright pieces of metal. When the plunger is pushed in, the upper disc rotates and the upright pieces of metal push up the hinged wings.
