Summary
A tin-plate clockwork Judge dressed in black fabric gown with a folded white collar (circa 1910). Painted facial features and grey-black hair. In his left hand he holds a piece of paper with the words CODE CIVIL/ ARTICLE printed on it. His right arm is raised revealing his paper cuff. He is attached to the inside of a tin plate imitation wood finish desk standing on a red and yellow square base. The corners of the base have been rounded off. A key protrudes from the right hand side of desk, the other end is attached to a clockwork mechanism inside the desk. In the centre of the front of the desk is an embossed circle enclosing the letters FM [ ]. The following words are embossed around each side of a triangle in a green strip on the top of the desk: MARQUE DEPOSE No 1[58]. Inside the triangle is embossed ARTICLE/ FRANCAIS.
