Summary
31 metal model soldiers. The label on the box lid describes these as German flat lead infantry soldiers, c.1870. Each soldier appears to have been stamped out of a flat sheet of metal, the uniforms are painted. There are 2 drummers; 3 on horseback; 2 carrying flags; 2 wearing red hats; red jackets and blue breeches or pantaloons; 3 wear red trousers, blue jackets and black hats with red cockades; 13 wear blue trousers, white jackets, black hats with red cockades and one carries an axe (all but 2 wear brown knapsacks); 5 wear white trousers, dark green/black jackets and black hats. There is also a brown painted triangular shaped piece which appears to be 7 rifles stacked together with their barrels forming the apex of the triangle. Total number of items is thirty one
