Summary
Model theatre made from colour printed paper pasted on card hung on a wooden frame and base. The front of the theatre shows the royal coat of arms at the top, the private boxes at either side and the outer red curtain with gold coloured fringe and tassels. The members of the orchestra are printed in colour on a paper strip pasted to the bottom front edge of the wooden base. Hanging between wooden slats are the different scenes printed in colour on paper pasted to card. Working from front to back these are as follows: The inner red curtain with gold coloured fringe and tassels; an interior symetrically arranged with two blue chaise longues and framed portraits above. In the centre is a blue upholstered chair and a picture of a ship above; an outdoor scene with trees, undergrowth and statuary; an interior which reads at the top 'Scene 3 POLLOCK'S SCENES IN CINDERELLA No 3' showing a mirror on a table and a full length mirror on a stand, to the left is a fire burning in the grate; a village scene which reads at the top: 'Scene 1 POLLOCK'S SCENES IN THE DAUGHTER OF THE REGIMENT. No.1.' showing a small village in the mountains with steps leading down to a cross in the foreground. There are also four characters each printed in colour on card. 'Death' illustrated by a skeleton wearing a shroud; a king wearing royal robes and a crown (both of these are mounted on square metal bases attached to long wires); a woman wearing a blue skirt, yellow jacket and bonnet and a devil with horns, a pierced ear and an animal's hind legs with cloven hooves.
