Summary
A wooden trunk containing ten items of doll's clothing. The trunk is covered externally with cream paper patterned with cream and brown lozenges filled with red shapes with red four petalled flowers between them. The convex lid, of three wooden panels, has a long metal handle which folds down. It fastens with a hinged metal clasp with a lock and keyhole. The underside and inside are covered with cream paper. Inside the lid are stuck two biblical pictures, one depicting a man throwing corn to hens and the other a barefoot long-robed man with a man on crutches beside him. Evidence of woodworm damage. Doll's clothes. A cream cotton and organdie dress with ruched bodice and short sleeves edged and inserted with lace - a black cord is threaded through one sleeve. Another dress is in cream muslin with a large floral embroidered panel on the skirt (torn). The bodice has six blue ribbon bows at the neck and an overpanel of cream embroidered net. A stiff, dark blue, long-sleeved blouse, checked with white lines, with blue velvet ribbon at the neck and cuffs and a black cotton drawstring at the waist. A pair of pink satin shoes with leather soles and pink ribbons. A small pink and white crocheted hat. A cream cotton short, sleeveless petticoat with lace inserts and pintucks.
