Summary
A wax-shoulder head doll with stuffed body and limbs, with a set of separate cotton clothes and packed inside a rectangular wooden box. She has a moulded, wax face and shoulders, which have cracks all over the surface and is also discoloured and has a fur deposit (?) on the surface. She has real brown hair sewn onto a brown fabric backing. The fabric has become detached from the head and the hair is very thin. She wears a pink knitted bonnet (eaten by moth or carpet beetle) with edges eaten away. She wears a white cotton bonnet over the knitted one. She has fixed, black glass eyes. She has a stuffed body, legs and upper arms, with kid leather lower arms and hands. She wears the following (outside to inside) - A white cotton short sleeved dress with smocking on the bodice. - A white full length cotton petticoat. - A white short cotton petticoat. - A pair of white cotton pantaloons. Stored inside the box, but separate from the doll are the following garments. - A white short sleeved cotton dress. - A fine cotton skirt - A pair of white cotton pantaloons - A white cotton chemise - A white cotton full length petticoat - A white cotton corset - A white lace bonnet - A white cotton bonnet The box is rectangular in shape and has a lid which opens with 2 metal hinges. It fastens with a metal hook. Total number of items is fourteen
