Summary

An English poured wax headed doll with a moulded face with painted facial features, inset blue glass eyes, blonde mohair hair. It has a stuffed fabric body with wax arms and legs, the wax legs are below knee. The right arm and left leg are broken. The limbs are attached to the body by means of metal eyelet holes and string. The doll wears a pale green flannel bonnet which is decorated with a turquoise fabric frill and cotton lace. there are two fabric ties. Her long white fine cotton dress has a 'V' shaped panel of cotton lace in the front which is edged with lace. A wide panel extends to the hem and consists of seven panels of pintucks with six rows of cotton lace insertion in between. The panel is edged with cotton lace which is also around the hem. The dress has a back opening with three mother of pearl buttons and a drawstring at the neck and waist. The short sleeves are edged with two rows of cotton lace. There is a long sleeveless white petticoat. A back opening has two fabric buttons and a drawstring at the neck and waist. The neck, armholes and hem are edged with lace. There is an inner waist petticoat and a pair of pantaloons with two rows of lace. There is one woollen knitted bootee with white lace ribbon tie. There is a pale green felt cape with a 'pinked' hem. A shoulder cape is attached at the neck edge and this is edged with a pale green fannel frill and turquoise fabric frill which also extends down the front of the cape. Total number of items is two
