Summary
An English dipped wax shoulder headed doll with moulded and painted facial features and blue glass eyes. Her fair artifical hair is dressed in ringlets. On her head a headress of beige flowers and green leaves sewn to a net base. At each end a white satin ribbon with a black velvet ribbon cross. Her body is stuffed and has black leather arms with stitched fingers. She wears a long sleeved, low necked, cream muslin jacket with four satin thread buttons down the front and three at the wrist, lace and white beads at the neck, lower edge and sleeve. A bow on each shoulder with two buttons. A pink satin belt has a muslin bow decorated with beads and a button Her two tiered skirt has a similar ribbon and bead decoration just above the hem and is fastened by a button at the back. There is a white cotton petticoat with a pin tuck, a crean flannel one, a white bodice and pantaloons with pin tucks and cotton lace at the edge. She wears cream lacy socks, brown velvet shoes with black bobble trim. A silver coloured metal anchor hangs on a thread round her neck. The doll is tied, with pink ribbon, to a metal eyelet on the inside of the door. Fixed to the door is a wooden curtain pole on which hang two cream coloured silk curtains which hang behind the doll. The rectangular wood and glass case has a hinged wooden door and a small white ceramic handle and stands on four wooden feet. Total number of items is two
