Summary
A clown sits on a horse who is standing on a platform with wheels (circa 1900). The clown has a bisque head with moulded and painted features. There are blue glass eyes. The grey curly hair peeps from beneath a tricorn hat. The neck and shoulders are bisque, crudely attached to the body with pipe cleaners. On the back of the shoulders is impressed '3200/ AM.90 D.T.P.'. The trunk has a hump back and deformed chest, the arms feel like wire and the hands are carved wood.The legs feel like wire and stuffing with wooden lower limbs and feet. The clown is wearing a grey and orange suit, orange on the right and grey on the left with lace frill at waists. Round the neck is a net frill. There are white painted knee length socks and orange shoes with turned up toes. The composition brown horse is nailed to the platform and has a saddle and bridle made of leather. The platform is painted wood in pinky brown and green. It has 3 wheels, one missing, and a loop at the front where the pull-along ribbon is attached. The axle of the front wheels has a double crank which activates a wire which moves other wires that go through the platform and the horse vertically to make the clown move when the toy is pulled.
