Summary
A pair of Dutch or peg wooden dolls, the larger is the 'mother', the smaller, the 'baby' fixed inside a wooden box with a glass front. Each has painted facial features and black painted hair. Jointed and painted lower arms and lower legs. The baby doll has red painted shoes. The mother doll has an inserted wooden wedge nose. The mother doll wears a floral chintz fabric dress, a white lace shawl and a straw bonnet lined with fabric. The baby doll wears a floral chintz fabric dress and white crocheted mob cap. The interior walls of the wooden box are painted white, the back is lined with green fabric trimmed with red cord.
