Summary
A bisque-headed doll with a swivel head, made by Armand Marseille. She has brown glass eyes, an open mouth with four teeth visible, painted facial features and a curly blonde mohair wig. Her body, arms and legs are composition, jointed at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, tops of legs and knees (ball-and-socket at the knees). Her fingers are quite worn and her right index finger may have been mended. She is wearing a faded orange linen dress which has a high neck with a ruffled neckline, long sleeves ending in similar ruffles at the cuffs, and a full skirt. At the front waist the dress is further gathered by a piece of smocking to each side of which a fabric tie is attached. These ties are fastened at the back. On her feet are soft pink leather shoes whose top front edges are folded over with a bow-shaped piece of leather stuck on.
