Summary
A walking and talking Jules Nicholas Steiner doll with bisque head, composition arms and lower legs, kid leather covered upper legs. Body covered with fabric. Blue glass eyes, open mouth with teeth, blonde mohair hair (loose). Gold coloured metal key with wire coil fixed into right leg. Mechanism inside body - doll moves arms and legs and says 'Mama' and 'Papa'. Wearing a white broderie anglaise dress with ruffle at neck, short sleeves and dropped waist, white cotton embroidered petticoat and cream leather shoes with braid ties at ankle. French, 1890 (circa).
