Summary
An Armand Marseille bisque-shoulder headed doll with a padded cotton? body and wax arms and legs, below the elbows and the knees. The doll has painted and moulded facial features with inset brown glass eyes. Her mouth is open to show her teeth. Her hair is blonde, shoulder length and possibly real. A horse shoe and the number '1902 10[slash]0' is inscribed on her shoulders. She is wearing a long cream lawn cotton? dress with elbow length layered sleeves. It is trimmed with lace and decorated with a folded rectangular trimming around the collar, cuffs, hem, and vertically down the centre. The hem is pintucked with this decoration. A metal brooch pinned to her collar reads 'MIZPAH'. Under her dress she is wearing a cream cotton petticoat decorated with four pintucks. A shorter undecorated cotton skirt is underneath with cream cotton pantaloons below. The pantaloons have a waist tie and are trimmed with lace at the doll's feet. The doll also has a brimless black silk? hat decorated with two frills of white lace on the front and the back. The inside is half trimmed with lace and lined with grey silk?. The wax of the doll's arms and legs has become spotted with brown and there is a brown fabric plaster around her left leg.
