Summary
A bisque-headed ball-jointed doll, possibly made by Simon and Halbig. The head is bisque with open and shut brown eyes and an open mouth with three teeth visible. She has a long brown mohair wig which is very sparse at the back and has one long plait tied with blue ribbon and a straight fringe. She has pierced ears but no earrings. The body, lower legs and hands are composition - the middle finger on the right hand and two toes on the right foot are broken off - and the rest of the ball-jointed limbs are of wood. She is wearing a long grey woollen dress with pintucks at the hem, puffed sleeves, a collar and smocked-top skirt. She has a long fine white cotton petticoat edged with narrow white lace and drawers in the same fabric. She is also wearing a 'Juliet' style cap made of the same fabric as the dress, edged and lined in cream/white cotton fabric. The dress is badly moth-damaged.
