Summary
A doll in nineteenth century costume and said on box to be mid 'nineteenth century'. She has a moulded composition (pressed cardboard) head with moulded features which are painted, the blue eyes are socketed but do not move. She has black painted hair with centre parting. The upper part of her torso is composition and the lower part fabric stuffed. The arms are jointed at the shoulders, the upper arms are fabric stuffed and the forearms and hands composition. The legs are jointed at the hips. She has fabric stuffed thighs and composition legs and feet from knees down. She is wearing a beautiful cotton sun bonnet, a green thick cotton dress with a bodice gathered at the neck and waist, long sleeves gathered at the shoulder and wrist, and a long gathered skirt. On top of this there is a long white cotton bib cum pinafore. Underneath is an underskirt, red corset laced with white tapes, pantaloons and black stockings that reach to the knee.
