Summary

A train construction set contained in its original box, manufactured by Brio (circa 1982). The underside of the box is covered with a printed full colour photograph of a child building the train. The trademark BRIO(R) is on the top left hand side in yellow and red print on a black background. The box top is covered with a printed full colour photograph of the train parts. On the top left side is the same trademark BRIO(R) and a yellow rectangle, black framed, that reads 'From 2 years' in six languages. The train parts are packed in shaped recesses, in a green plastic insert. There are 3 rectangular wooden bases painted black. Each has 4 black wheels with white rubber tyres on metal axles, and 2 white, slightly worn, plastic pillars standing vertically. Each has a black rubber or plastic coupling at each end. The construction pieces are of wood, with smoothed edges and a high gloss paint finish - 1 Cube with horizontal deep groove on one side, central construction hole, painted green, with a printed label reading 'BRIO(R)/MADE IN SWEDEN' red and yellow on a black ground. 2 X semicircular piece with central construction hole, 1 painted red, 1 yellow. 2 X flat rectangle with 2 construction holes, 1 painted red, 1 yellow. 2 X flat square with central hole, 1 painted red, 1 blue. 2 X round flat piece with central hole, 1 green, 1 yellow. 1 X round, double height piece, blue with central hole, also horizontal hole across the middle.
