Summary
A threading toy in its original box, manufactured by Brio (circa 1982). This toy consists of a flat, red plastic disc. It has cut out spaces of a square, a circle and a triangle, all linked by a small cut out channel. On both sides of the disc is embossed 'BRIO'. Running through the cut out shapes is a piece of cord which carries on it free running wooden shapes. These are two yellow balls, one green triangle and two blue rectangular blocks. The piece of cord is continuous and it cannot be detached from the toy. The box has two colour photographs of Brio threading shapes. One photograph shows the toy by itself, the other is a toddler playing with the toy. It comprises a red plastic circle which is pierced by interconnecting square, circle and triangle shapes. A white cord is threaded through the red plastic circle. Threaded onto the cord are two yellow wooden balls; two blue wooden rectangles (square in cross-section) and a green wooden triangle. Each of the wooden shapes could fit through their respective hole in the red plastic circle.
