Summary
A vinyl black 'Sasha' doll, model '118, Cora, Flower Dress', in her original box (1980 to 1984). The doll was made by the company 'Trendon Limited', Stockport, UK. This doll model was produced between 1980 and 1984. The doll was donated in as new by Trendon Limited and has therefore been dated circa 1982. Sasha dolls were created by a Swiss artist called Sasha Morgenthaler. From 1965 Sasha dolls were produced by various different companies and then in 1970 'Trendon Limited', Stockport, UK began production. Trendon Limited produced these dolls until 1984 when 'Sasha Dolls Limited' became the selling company until 1986 when the factory closed. The doll is made of hard vinyl. The face has moulded and painted facial features with brown eyes. Her rooted curly nylon hair is black. The socket head turns. The body is made in two parts joined together with a distinct ridge. The arms and legs move from joints at the shoulders and hips. The doll is wearing a pink, mauve, red and purple floral print cotton dress, white machine knitted cotton knickers and black leatherette sandals. The box is made of white cardboard with a clear plastic top, the sides and one end are printed with faces of different dolls in the series. The other end has a self-adhesive label with a colour photograph of the doll and details of the manufacturer. The Sasha symbol and the words 'Sasha doll' can be faintly seen under the label.
