Summary
A hand held friction toy consisting of a disc decorated with a red, white and blue spiral, an orange bird and a pink rabbit. There are also four windows in the disc. One is covered with red 'film' the other with blue. The other two uncovered windows reveal an oval shaped metal strip with a short metal rod at each end. The rods rest on a smaller disc with an abrasive surface. Both discs are attached to a red plastic 'sleeve' containing a metal plunger device. When pushed in and released this makes the discs spin fast and sparks are created by the short metal rods striking the abrasive surface of the smaller disc.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr S. Feber in January 1984.
