Summary
A toy wooden train set consisting of a locomotive, a tender, a carriage, a driver, a fireman, a guard and five passengers (circa 1981). The locomotive is in the form of a steam engine with six wheels, a funnel, a boiler and an open cab. The locomotive is coloured green and brown with red details, allowing the grain of the wood to show. The name 'Sky-Lark' is written on both sides of the locomotive. A shallow well, made in the base of the cab, allows the figure of the driver to stand securely. The locomotive is attached to the tender by a peg and hole coupling. The tender has 3 sides and an open front. It has four wheels and is coloured mainly green with the number 1704 written on both sides. A round well in the base holds the figure of the fireman. It has peg and hole couplings at front and back. The carriage has a peg and hole coupling at the front. It has eight wheels, a circular window at the front, a door and rear platform at the back and two pull down sides, the tops of which are carved into wave shapes. It is coloured green and brown and has the letters GWR on each side. There are five wells in the base of the carriage and one on the platform for the figures. The figures are turned wooden 'skitle' shapes, painted red, green, brown, black and white. The passengers are a country gentleman with gun, a boy with fishing rod, a school girl, a woman with a shopping basket and a woman in a red dress. The guard is in uniform, the driver holds a spanner and the fireman holds a shovel. Total number of items is 11.
